What are the best games of all time? Everyone has an opinion, so the best of all time is rather subjective. Even so, Nintendo Power decided to try. The 100 best Nintendo games were listed in the 100th issue. The list covers every Nintendo system: NES, SNES, N64, Virtual Boy, and Gameboy. For reasons that should be obvious, I've highlighted the NES entries.

Even though there are bound to be disagreements from everyone on any such list, I can't resist a few comments of my own...

• The 12-member panel that compiled this list was way too heavy with SNES freaks.
• The Mr Dream version of Punch-Out? C'mon.
• Pleasant surprise: Bionic Commando.
• Curious surprises: RC Pro Am, Dr Mario, Ninja Gaiden II, Double Dragon, and Rescue Rangers.
• Where are Dragon Warrior 1-2-3, Tetris, Micro Machines, River City Ransom, and Bubble Bobble?
• I suppose my main concern is with the order of the NES games, such as Metal Gear falling below Double Dragon and Rescue Rangers. And although the Castlevania series is terrific, is the original the 5th best NES game of all time?

The system for each dog wasn't indicated in the article, but I believe this is accurate... all but three are for the SNES. It appears that no unlicensed games were considered. Can anyone comment on these "winners?"
